CareCredit is committed to ongoing market research that identifies how to support its member providers’ needs. As part of its commitment to hearing healthcare providers, the CareCredit Research on Patient Behavior study surveyed all the factors involved in a patient’s journey to purchasing hearing aids and related healthcare. The key findings of this study are presented in the CareCredit Research on Patient Behavior Report, which is intended to help hearing care providers better understand the behavior of the patient populations they serve, and to support their marketing efforts.

The research was conducted as an online survey of clients who had made a healthcare purchase requiring an out-of-pocket expense in the past 12 months OR were likely to make a healthcare purchase in the next 12 months. The survey delivered 5 key findings, including the discovery that patients considered hearing healthcare a quality of life issue, and they would sacrifice other purchases in order to be able to purchase the hearing product or service they needed. However, the study also revealed that the decision to purchase hearing aids and hearing care took patients a long time as compared to their decision to purchase vision or dental care.
